QAnon Shaman Jacob Chansley allegedly offered to testify against Donald Trump at his upcoming impeachment trial.
As the Arizona rioter’s lawyer, Albert Watkins, confirmed, his client wants to be heard at the former president’s impeachment trial, which is set to take place in the week of February 8, to testify that Trump had incited the Capitol riot.
On January 6, Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli, was seen storming the Capitol shirtless and clad in a furry hat with massive horns. Following the riot and his arrest, the QAnon shaman changed his narrative and claimed he was “duped” into his actions by the former president.
While Watkins claimed his client wants to testify against Trump at the impeachment trial, he confirmed that he hadn’t actually spoken about the possibility to any of the Senate members as of this writing.
Chansley’s proposal follows shortly after Trump has become the first president to be impeached twice after being charged with “inciting violence against the government of the United States.”
Trump will also become the first president ever to face an impeachment trial after his time in office. The trial is expected to kick off on February 9.
As the Capitol rioter’s lawyer added, his client feels “betrayed” after Trump failed to pardon him and other members of the MAGA mob that stormed the capitol following the January 6 events at Capitol Hill.
“He felt like he was betrayed by the president,” Watkins claimed as he insisted Chansley was “horrendously smitten” by Trump in the past.
