A viral math problem has been baffling social media users after first popping up on the internet.

As seen in the picture above, your job is to find out what the value of the strawberry is by working out the value of other fruits first.
To solve the riddle, simply start at the top line and make your way down line by line. Don’t rush, because even the smallest distraction can lead to a mistake that will influence your final answer!

The answer is 15. The value of the strawberry is 15, and here comes the breakdown of the problem.
Like always with puzzles such as this one, let’s first replace the icons with letters to make our job easier. Let’s presume that A is for APPLE, P for PINEAPPLE, G for GRAPES, O for ORANGE, and S for STRAWBERRY.
LINE 1: A = 4 (the value of an apple is 4)
LINE 2: P = A + 1 = 4 + 1 = 5 (the value of a pineapple is 5)
LINE 3: G = P x A + 4 = 5 x 4 + 4 = 20 + 4 = 24 (the value of grapes is 24)
LINE 4: O = 3P + G = 3 x 5 + 24 = 15 + 24 = 39 (the value of an orange is 39)
LINE 5: S = O – G = 39 – 24 = 15.
Therefore, the value of the strawberry is 15!
