The occurrence of a natural disaster is always beyond human control.
We may predict it sometimes but we can never prevent it from happening.
Earthquakes, storms, hurricanes, floods, etc can be powerful enough to destroy hundreds and thousands of life, possessions, and valuables.
While not all the disasters that happen on a very high magnitude that are capable of destruction, but they are always capable of terrifying humans.
Puerto Rico was hit by an earthquake of 6 magnitudes on the scale on Monday, waking up people in the middle of their sleep.
U.S. Geological Survey said in their report that the quake had hit a region about 49 miles away from the north coast of the islands in a depth of approximately 6 miles.
Kiara Hernández, spokeswoman of Emergency Management Agency came out and said that there is nothing major to worry about as there is no report of any loss and damage.
The earthquake that hit the region on Monday is said to be the strongest earthquake to hit Puerto Rico in years.
Puerto Rico is already suffering from tropical Strom Karen.
Puerto Rico’s governor had announced earlier on Monday that she is closing down all the public offices and all the school as Strom Karen is threatening heavy flooding that can cause a major loss of life and thus it was important for people to stay safe inside.
She also requested people in the flood-prone area to move as fast as they can and find shelter in places that are safer.
National Weather Service’s San Juan office’s in charge, Roberto Garcia said that it is expected to rain about 2 to 4 inches of water in the region including about 8 inches of water in the areas with less or no human population.
He also said that several towns are going to hit by the flood, especially the ones between mountains.
