Protesters Across The US Threaten Violence After Grand Jury’s Decision Not To Prosecute Officers For The Shooting Of Breonna Taylor

The Kentucky grand jury indicted one officer for shooting into a home next to Taylor’s apartment that had people in it. No charges were brought against the two other cops who opened fire at the EMT’s flat.

According to prosecutors, they were justified in using force to protect themselves after someone in the house opened fire.

Taylor was shot numerous times by a cop who entered her apartment on a no-knock warrant during the investigation.

Demonstrators gathered in front of the Barclays Center and one man with a megaphone said: “Forget ‘turn the other cheek’ we’re way past that, it’s ‘eye for an eye’ now!” His words were reported by Nick Pinto on his Twitter page.

Referring to the police, another protester said: “All of this anger, and they still have billions of our dollars. They’re using our money, taxpayer money, to brutalize us. To murder us!”

Another person asked fellow protesters to lie down on the ground for 8 minutes and 46 seconds – the amount of time former police officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee on George Floyd’s neck on May 25.

“Today, you’re Eric Garner,” the speaker shouted. “Today you’re George Floyd. Today a pig has his knee on your neck, and that mean’s your dead.”

Another screamed: “You ain’t feel this f****** s***, you ain’t f****** human!”

This comes after prosecutors said two cops who opened fire at Taylor’s home were justified in using force to protect themselves after the EMT’s boyfriend shot them.

The only charges were three counts of wanton endangerment against Officer Brett Hankinson for shooting in a home next to Taylor’s apartment.
