Professor Carried Student’s Baby During Lecture Because She Couldn’t Find A Babysitter


A caring lecturer has gone viral after carrying the baby of a student for three hours because she wasn’t able to find a babysitter and was worried about being forced to skip her class.

51-year-old Dr. Ramata Sissoko Cissé of Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville decided to help her student who couldn’t find a babysitter for her child but wanted to attend her lecture desperately.

And so, Dr. Cissé wrapped the student’s baby around her and continued to provide a 3-hour lecture while the child was resting.

“My mom is my role model. her student couldn’t find a babysitter today & being the true African mother that she is, taught a THREE-hour class with the baby on her back & fed him,” the professor’s daughter, Anna, wrote on social media after capturing a photo of her mother in action.

After the story went viral, thousands of people applauded the lecturer not only for letting the student with a baby stay during her lecture but also for taking care of the toddler herself.

“Your mom is a true woman! Tough, full of empathy and resourceful. God bless her!” another one added.

One of the lecturer’s students wrote: “Crazy how I’m taking her now and she was literally telling us about how happy this made her yesterday.”

In addition to being a superwoman in the classroom, Dr. Cissé also runs a charity to help fund children from Mali to go to school according to Anna.

“My mom also runs a non-profit organization called Gourma-Himi in which she sponsors children for school in Mali,” the proud daughter added.
