The 60 year old Duke had been suspended from public appearances as a royal six months ago. The now-infamous BBC interview where he tried to defend and justify his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein was a disastrous one that only fueled the allegations even further.

This forced retirement is in stark comparison with his parents. Prince Philip, who is 98 years old, recently returned to support the workers during the pandemic after he announced his retirement when he as 96 years old. His mother, 94 year old Queen Elizabeth II, still actively serves as the head of state.

While it seems that Prince Andrew hoped and expected that the suspension from public service would be a temporary one, the source suggested that his forced retirement is likely to be a permanent one.

Although Andrew denied the allegations, the documentary reintroduced claims of a woman who claims she was sex trafficked to the royalty at least three times when she was still a minor.point 154 | 1

Moreover, a number of other non-Epstein scandals also loom over the Duke of York’s shoulders. For instance, he has been sued by a former friend who claimed that the royalty owed him $8 million over a real estate transaction. The rulings have not been out for the case.

The source told The Sunday Times that even his mother, who reportedly said that Andrew was her favorite child, accepted the fact that Andrew’s return to public work is not viable.

If the source is true, it would be a big letdown for Prince Andrew, as many observers believe that he wants to normalize his status once more. One clue was that he hired Mark Gallagher, a famed Public Relations expert.

These observers explained that when the Duke was photographed with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson as the former couple were preparing gifts for hospice workers, it was the work of Gallagher to portray the royalty in a better light.
