In a funny Facebook livestream, a priest has turned on video filters while performing a mass online amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The incident occurred in Italy where Fr. Paolo Longo took to social media to hold an online mass as public gatherings were banned in the country.
Just moments after starting his livestream, however, funny filters began taking over Longo’s face, making it hard for people to stay focused on his words.
In the video, the priest is seen turning from an astronaut to a gymgoer to a wizard while standing beside a church altar.
The funny clip was reshared on Twitter by Gavin Shoebridge who wrote:
“In Italy today, a priest decided to live-stream a mass due to COVID-19. Unfortunately he activated the video filters by mistake.”
After the video went viral, people couldn’t help but find the whole thing a fortunate mistake that brightened people’s moods.
Previously, in an unrelated story, another Italian priest has gone viral after passing away from coronavirus after giving his respirator to a younger patient.
As it was reported by Italian news outlet Araberara, 72-year-old Casigno-based Giuseppe Berardelli had passed on the respirator given to him by his parishioners to another patient shortly before succumbing to the killer bug.
The great sacrifice went viral after a Jesuit priest James Martin shared the story and paid a tribute to the selfless priest on Twitter.
“He is a ‘Martyr of Charity,’ a saint like St. Maximilian Kolbe, who in Auschwitz volunteered to take the place of a condemned man with a family, and was killed,” Martin said of Berardelli.
“Don Giuseppe Berardelli, patron of those who suffer from coronavirus and all who care for them, pray for us!”
