A former priest who impregnated a 16-year-old girl will keep his present job as a teacher despite making inappropriate remarks towards his young students and making them feel uncomfortable.

59-year-old Joseph DeShan left the priesthood back in 1994 after having a sexual relationship with a teen girl, 14, and impregnating her at the age of 16.

According to the state arbitrator, the former Catholic priest will be allowed to keep his current job as a teacher despite his despicable past.

DeShan currently teaches reading to children as young as 11 and earns over $85,000 per year. As the 22-year Cinnaminson School District employee, he was said to remain in his position despite parents complaining about his past and saying he poses a danger to their children.

According to the documents, the former priest just recently praised one of his students for having “pretty green eyes.”

“The student reported that the comment made her feel ‘uncomfortable.’ The student further noted that DeShan made the comment in a ‘weird voice,’” the ruling read.

Branded as a “pedophile” and “rapist” by students’ parents, DeShan previously served as a priest in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Despite impregnating a 16-year-old girl, however, he wasn’t prosecuted.

“It was a consensual relationship that didn’t work out,” the perverted priest told The Hartford Courant back in 2002.

Defending the man’s current job, Arbitrator Walt De Treux expressed:

“The Cinnaminson Board of Education (BOE) has not alleged that respondent engaged in any inappropriate conduct while holding public employment.

“The fact that some parents now demand his removal from the classroom does not give the BOE a second opportunity to revisit pre-employment conduct of which it has been long aware.

“I find that the charges as they relate to alleged current conduct, i.e., the one alleged comment to the female student, are based on hearsay, and therefore, are procedurally deficient and must be dismissed.”
