Refusing to give up on his fight to overturn the election results, Trump has promised action as he announced a “wild” rally in Washington D.C. on the day Congress is set to accept the election results cast in the Electoral College.

“Peter Navarro release 36-page report alleging election fraud ‘more than sufficient’ to swing victory to Trump. A great report by Peter,” the president wrote in a Sunday tweet.

In his tweet, Trump also shared a link to Peter Navarro’s groundless report in which he claimed fraud was sufficient to change the outcome of the election despite failing to provide any concrete evidence to back his claims.

Trump’s fight against the election results continues even after Biden’s win has been recognized in the Electoral College where state electors cast votes in the Democrat’s favor. The results are now set to be approved by Congress on January 6.

Following the Electoral College vote, Joe Biden addressed the nation and slammed Trump for his refusal to accept the results.

“Respecting the will of the people is at the heart of our democracy, even if we find those results hard to accept,” the president-elect said.

“(…) The Trump campaign brought dozens and dozens of legal challenges, they were heard again and again. And each of the times they were heard they were found to be without merit.”

Biden also went on to applaud state officials and election workers for withstanding political pressure and threats and continuing to commit themselves to a “free and fair” election.

Referring to the Supreme Court’s decision not to hear the Texas lawsuit that aimed to overturn election results in four battleground states, Biden added: “The Court sent a clear signal to President Trump and his allies that they would be no part of this unprecedented assault on our democracy.”

As Biden went on to say, Trump’s concerns were heard on plenty of occasions and were always “found to be without merit.”

“Time and again, President Trump’s lawyers presented their arguments to state officials, state legislatures, state and federal courts, and ultimately to the United States Supreme Court, twice. They were heard by more than 80 judges across the country. And in every case, no cause or evidence was found to reverse or question or dispute the results.”

In his speech, Biden encouraged Americans that it is now “time to turn the page” and work together to “unite” and “heal.”
