A pregnant woman miraculously gave birth on her front lawn with the help of her husband and her mother.
31-year-old Emily Johnson from Vacaville, California, had no intentions of giving birth under the stars after she and her husband had found out they were expecting their second child.
That is why as soon as Emily went into labor, her husband, Michael Johnson, and her mother, Kristy Sparks, got ready to take her to the hospital.
Little did the trio know, however, that the baby was not willing to wait any longer and that Emily’s contractions would speed up rapidly before she could even reach the car.
While on the front lawn and walking towards her car, Emily realized she wouldn’t make it to the hospital in time to get her pain medication and receive help from medical professionals.
“I was going to accept those wonderful pain medicines at the hospital. Having a natural childbirth was not in my birth plan. But given how fast the labor progressed, we knew I was not getting there,” the mom told CNN.
Fortunately, the mother wasn’t all alone during her delivery under the night sky. While she was supported and held by Michael, her mother helped her with the delivery and told her when to push.
“It was surreal. I could see lights from the fire truck and the next thing I knew I had the baby’s head right against my hand,” Sparks recalled in an interview with Big 105.9.
As the first responders arrived at the family’s home, Emily had made her final push and a healthy baby boy named Tommy was born.
To make matters even more astounding, the entire delivery was caught on tape by the family’s Ring camera.
“Once my husband sent [the video] to one of our local news stations, it went viral from there. Friends from many states have reached out, and friends of friends from Canada and Mexico have also seen it,” Emily said in a statement to DailyMail.com after her video went viral.
“With all of the pain, trauma, and negativity on the news lately, I’m glad that a video with me groaning like a farm animal welcoming my second baby can bring joy and laughter to others.”
