A pregnant mom saved her family from two men during a home invasion when she took out an AR-15 and opened fire on the burglars.
Her husband, Jeremy King, was at their home when two men with firearms and masks broke into their home and demanded money.
Speaking about the incident, King told Bay News 9: “They came in heavily hooded and masked. As soon as they had got the back door opened, they had a pistol on me and was grabbing my 11-year-old daughter.
“I’m telling them, ‘I have nothing for you,’ (A)nd they’re like, ‘Give me everything you got.’ It became real violent, real fast.”
One of the two violent men took his pistol while the other stomped on his head.
According to NBC News, Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Maj. Frank Losat said to reporters: “Two unknown males broke in and made demands of them. The male victim, who is the homeowner, began to get pistol-whipped and beat up.”
King’s wife saw the horrifying incident and ran to get an AR-15 that the family was in lawful possession of. She then opened fire on the two burglars, killing one of them.
“When he came toward the back door in her line of sight, she clipped him,” King shared. “He made it from my back door to roughly 200 feet out in the front ditch before the AR did its thing.
“Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it. (My wife) evened the playing field and kept them from killing me.”
Fox News also reported that “The man was later found dead in the ditch” while the other man “fled when his friend was shot.”
King received 20 stitches and 3 staples in his head to close the wound.
