A pregnant mother rushed her 15-year-old son to hospital after an accident only to find out that her 13-year-old son passed away in a separate incident.
Kellie Simpson took Bailey Rainbird to hospital after a fall when she received the heartbreaking news that her other son, Liam, died when he was hit by a car on his way back from school.
The siblings were involved in separate accidents only minutes apart, leaving the family devastated.
13-year-old Liam was riding his scooter on the way home when he crashed into a car, according to police. He passed away shortly after.
15-year-old Bailey, who spent two nights in a hospital, has been left with pain, swelling and bruising to his face.
Ms. Simpson shared a photo of Liam on Facebook and wrote: “Our hearts are just so shattered. We love you so very much.”
The family wrote on a GoFundMe page launched by Ms. Simpson’s sister: “Liam we are at a loss for words to describe the heartache we feel knowing you were taken from our family too soon. You were the sweetest, most loving child who brought us happiness since the day you were born.”
Her sister added: “On behalf of Kellie Simpson and Jamie Harrison we would like to thank our community of friends and family for all their love, support and donations.
“The kindness from loved ones and strangers have been overwhelming and helping to get through this tragedy.”
One internet user commented: “I can’t read this. It’s break my heart too much. Poor young boy. Poor family. RIP.”
Another wrote: “So sad and such a beautiful little boy. RIP beautiful boy. My sympathies to the Family.”
A third added: “This is completely and utterly devastating .. I’m heartbroken for this family.”
