It was the happiest day of Mashayla Harper’s life as the woman could not wait for her baby to come out and the preparation had started already.
It was her baby shower and all the people that loved her were there to welcome her baby and shower their love on the new star that was soon coming out to her.
But everything changed in a matter of minutes as she met an accident and lost her baby as she ended up in ICU.
Mashayla Harper was driving back home after her baby shower. She was happy and had her 8months old fetus in her belly.
She was driving back home in her Honda Accord when it was hit by a Nissan Titan 2005.
The accident left her in a critical condition and the 33 years old man called James Gilbert ran away on foot, leaving her behind to die.
She was rushed to hospital by a passerby where she was admitted to the ICU without wasting any time. Her family was called and her father decided to share a post on his Facebook.
He posted pictures from the shower and wrote “It was the best day of my daughter’s life and within minutes, she is in ICU right now, fighting for her life while she has already lost her baby.
Thank you to the people who helped her and got her to the hospital or we would have lost her.”
Sheriff Joe Berlin who was working on the case tried to contact James but could only reach his wife. He then made her contact him and then arrested him. The man is charged with a $100,000 bond as he left the scene making it a hit and run case.
He said he ran away because he was scared but he is extremely sorry for what happened.
