The unusual prank was carried out by employee Jo Thornely who works as a podcast creator in Sydney, Australia.

After Jo’s boss called in sick to get some time off, the worker decided to put her job on the line and get back at them by covering their office in wrapping paper.

“My boss took the day off today, but might never again,” she wrote on Twitter where she shared the results of her mischief.

In an interview with Yahoo, Thornely admitted that she and her coworker “bought the cheapest (recyclable) paper we could find” before getting to work.

“[We] started on the big things and worked our way down to the details. Wrapping office chairs is a b**** of a job, but utterly worth it,” she said.

Soon enough, Thornely’s post went viral whereas people were left divided by the “harmless prank.”

“This is what pranks should be about. It’s fun and it’s not really hurting anyone… if the boss takes it well, it will boost everyone’s morale and make them more connected,” someone wrote.

“You wrapped the office better than I can wrap anything,” another one suggested.

Not everyone, however, was pleased with Jo’s type of prank.

“Well it looks like SOMEONE had a bit too much time on their hands! (Not to mention, an abundance of gift wrap),” someone wrote.

“Doesn’t she have anything better to do than to waste perfectly good wrapping paper?” another one argued.
