A Popeyes restaurant has reportedly shut down in Missouri after a mysterious sign was placed outside the famous American fast-food chain.
According to local media outlets, authorities spoke about how the restaurant had no other option but to undergo forced closure as the incident started to go viral, which immediately resulted in a major outcry on social media.
Now, police in Missouri have recently confirmed how a criminal investigation is on the rise, right after the sign appeared. But what exactly did that signboard state is a question on so many people’s minds.
Well, the sign was placed outside the eatery and boldly declared how it would no longer serve food to white people.
The sign was reportedly spotted by customers at the restaurant’s drive-thru in Lake St. Louis in Missouri. And it is now being confirmed how it was put up by miscreants that were ‘unbeknownst towards the business.’
Moreover, as of Wednesday, the restaurant’s official sign mentioned how the restaurant was going through a series of changes and hence would now be under new management. But no one expected it to mention a remark as racist as this where it blatantly denied service to all those people who were white.
Some police officers from St. Louis Police Department mentioned how they felt that the sign was actually put up there as a prank and hence did not include any members of the restaurant’s own staff.
On the other hand, the eatery’s management also went about confirming to the local media outlets how CCTV footage showed or proved that it was done by nobody at the store.
