Police Released More Details About Rioters Who Attacked Paramedics And Police Officers


The authorities have released additional information about the shocking riot that occurred in Stuttgart, Germany, and left a number of police officers and paramedics fearing for their lives.

During the most violent protest that the city has allegedly ever seen, hundreds of rioters broke into stores, looted goods, and attacked police officers. According to the reports, some of the thugs were also hurling bottles at paramedics that arrived at the scene.

The shocking riot began as the police searched a teen for drugs during a city center park party. Soon enough, a mass of some five hundred revelers gathered and started smashing cars, destroying private property, and looting stores.

Some two hundred rioters had also confronted the police officers “in an extremely aggressive manner,” leaving 19 cops injured.

Following the confrontation, the police have released additional information about the perpetrators and revealed that half of the 24 arrested people are foreign nationals whereas the other half represent German nationals with a foreign background.

As the authorities added, the riot didn’t seem to be inspired by political motives. Instead, they suggested that partying and alcohol most likely led to the aggression against the police.

Nevertheless, some insist that the riot was sparked ‘in solidarity’ after hundreds of people confronted the police when they searched a teen for drugs.

Additionally, the authorities confirmed that nearly two dozen police officers were injured during the riot whereas even the paramedics were not spared from the attack.

According to the reports, some forty shops and stores had been attacked and/or ransacked as twelve police cars suffered great damage.

Speaking of the shocking incident to Bild, the vice president of the city’s police department said “there had never been scenes like this in Stuttgart” in his 30 years of service.

“I have been a police officer for 30 years and have experienced a lot, but there have never been scenes like this in Stuttgart. I am shocked. I’ve never seen anything like it. The level of violence is unprecedented,” Thomas Berger said in an interview with Bild.

Slamming the violent riot was also the city’s mayor, Fritz Kuhn, who called the event a “sad Sunday for Stuttgart” and vowed to investigate it thoroughly.
