Police Officer Reunited With His Family After Four Years After Winning A Contest


A family-of-ten finally reunited after four years after winning a contest.

Police officer David Bald, from Milton Keynes, was unable to spend the festive period with his parents, his brother and two nephews.

But after National Express started a contest for ‘long-distance families’ to be reunited with their families, the Bald family finally met after four years in a single room together.

The family was selected from hundreds of ‘long-distance families’ and received the surprise reunion.

It was David’s wife Sandra, from Edinburgh, who wanted her husband to be reunited with his family. So, she entered the competition.

After winning the competition, the family reunited at the Woodside Hotel in Aberdour, Scotland.

David, his wife Sandra and their 14-year-old daughter with Down’s syndrome, Alexandra finally met David’s parents, brother, and nephews.

Sandra said: “It has been such a long time since we have all been together under one roof.point 287 |

With David’s work, it is tough to arrange a time to make the journey, so it was really a lovely surprise to find out we had been selected.point 113 | point 116 | 1

“It has been wonderful to catch up again and for Alexandra to have an opportunity to see her cousins. Hopefully, it won’t be another three-and-a-half year until we see each other the next time.”

The get-together at the hotel was funded by the National Express who started this amazing competition to reunite the family. National Express even paid for the Bald family’s trip to Aberdour.
