Police Officer Dies After Being Shot While Responding To A Report


A “hero” police officer, who was a father-of-three, was shot in the head by a man while responding to a report and searching for a shooting victim.

The incident took place in St. Louis, Missouri, where 29-year-old Tamarris L. Bohannon, a St. Louis police officer of almost four years, was looking for a shooting victim when he was fatally shot in the head.

Meanwhile, Bohannon’s partner was shot in his leg. He was later treated for his gun wound and released from the hospital.

After the South Grand neighborhood shooting, the gunman broke into a nearby home and forced the residents out. He then barricaded himself inside the home and stayed there for twelve hours before the police and SWAT managed to apprehend him.

Following the showdown, St. Louis Police announced Bohannon’s death and thanked the hospital workers for tending to the two officers.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we report that out critically injured officer has died. We cannot express how much we appreciate the hospital staff who continuously treated both officers for their injuries,” the department wrote on Twitter. “Thank you all for your continued thoughts & prayers!”

The police department also shared a photo of the letter handwritten by the cop’s family who dubbed the officer “hero” as they asked for “prayers and support.”

“It is with great sadness we share the loss of officer Tamarris ‘T’ Bohannon, affectionately known as ‘Bo’ by his squad of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department,” the tear-jerking tribute read.

“A three year veteran who was raised & continued to live and raise his family in the city in which he patrolled.

“He is a hero to many but most importantly to his loving wife and three incredible children.
