Authorities are searching for the gunman who opened fire in a mall in Indiana, killing at least one person.
Mishawaka Police Department received frantic calls of a report about a shooting at University Park Mall before 3 pm.
According to the South Bend Tribune, St. Joseph County Coroner Michael McGann confirmed that one person had died.
Officers said the incident was no longer an active shooter case. As of 3:45 pm, they were looking for the suspect.
The shooter was reported to be wearing a clown mask covered with a ripped US flag.
A video taken by a witness shows people screaming and running for their lives. The woman shared the footage and said her younger sister was also at the mall when two shots were fired.
Police have confirmed to ABC 57 that shots went off inside the Indiana mall.
An Indiana journalist has reported at a person was shot.
“I heard a bang and saw people running,” Renee Dominok, a shoe store employee, said. “I thought it was maybe a tornado.”
She said he told people to take cover inside the store when the shots were fired.
Renee, her family, and 35 other people ran into the store’s storage room and came out after the danger had passed.
The mall has been evacuated and St. Joseph County Metro Homicide has taken over the investigation.
