Police arrested a Canadian pastor and dragged him across the road for arranging an ‘illegal’ church service.
Pastor Artur Pawlowski was arrested by cops from the Calgary Police Service for allegedly violating a mandatory ban on gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic.
This comes only one month after his Easter confrontation with police went viral.
Pastor Pawloski, the head of Calgary’s Street Church in Alberta, and his brother, David Pawlowski, were both arrested on Saturday.
According to reports, he arranged a service that was in violation of the new court order obtained by Alberta Health Services in relation to mandatory compliance of public health orders for gatherings.
Officers said the AHS obtained a Court of Queen’s Bench Order that applies to gatherings, including rallies, demonstrations, and protests.
Police enforced the order by “proactively serving an organizer of a church service with the court order in an effort to ensure that citizens attending the Saturday service were abiding by the current COVID-19 public health orders.”
Authorities said the pastor “acknowledged the injunction, but chose to ignore requirements for social distancing, mask wearing and reduced capacity limits for attendees, and continued with the event.”
Video of the arrest was posted on YouTube and showed the Pawloskis accusing the cops of being Gestapo and Nazis.
The brothers were then told to exit their cars and the pastor can be seen kneeling in the middle of the road as officers arrested him.
Pastor Pawlowski appeared to refuse to walk to the patrol cars so the cops ended up dragging him across the road.
Another man who filmed the incident can be heard shouting at the cops and calling them ‘evil psychopaths,’ ‘cowards.’
