When the US Blogger proudly shared this photo of herself and her boyfriend, many fans responded with uplifting messages of how good the couple looked.
However, there were others that fixated on the differences of their body type.
Rude and hateful messages were left by trolls who could not get over Melissa’s curvy body standing next to her skinnier boyfriend.
Not long after, Melissa hit back. She opened up about the judgement from people who believed that she did not deserve her boyfriend. She even revealed comments that implied her boyfriend had a fat fetish.
With wonderful elegance however, these comments did little to dent this curvy woman’s confidence.
She pointed out how superficial and ‘silly’ it is to place value on appearances, and to assume their relationship was unnatural.
She even went so far as to state that she would “keep fighting” for their love to be accepted without question.
As a final statement, Melissa brilliantly concluded that she would not listen to the hateful voices and rather stand by her own rules.
