Rescue Pit Bull Started Smiling After Getting Rescued By New Owner

Second chances are something people scarcely get, but when it comes to pets, it seems like an even rarer occurrence.

But maybe that’s why Meatball, this Sweet Pit Bull mix can’t even contain his newfound hope for life!

Meatball had been a victim of circumstance when the Fresno Bully Rescue picked him up. You can see that in his photo, his eyes are filled with sadness and despite being rescued, his demeanor hadn’t changed at all.

But at that moment, that little stubby meatball was about to start a new chapter in his life. One where he can’t help but smile!

“I saw Meaty’s photo on the Fresno Bully Rescue Facebook page and just got this feeling that he was ‘the one’,” – Lisa Reilly

Although in this picture, Meatball doesn’t seem like the happiest dog, but his life was about to changed in a way he could’ve never imagined.

Sweet little Meatball — or “Meaty” — has a lovely smile. He just can’t hide his joy!

Lisa, who brought Meaty home, first saw a picture of him on the Fresno Bully Rescue website.

Meaty reminded her so much of Kitty, her late pit bull, so she just knew that Meaty was destined to join her family.

It was love at first sight!

The beginning was pretty rough for Meaty — he had contracted kennel flu and he had to be treated before he could finally come to his furr-ever home!

When asked about how he came to be named Meatball, Lisa explains:
“Well, he looks like a bowling ball.point 209 |

It’s hard to really tell just how short he is in person, but he’s so low to the ground and wide like a Mack Truck.point 94 | And he would just barrel into you like a bowling ball of dog fat when we first got him.point 163 | Thus, he became known as ‘The Meatball,’ Meaty for short!”
