While the world is fighting for animal rights, some people like Kenny Rowels of Pennsylvania derive pleasure from harming the poor creatures.
Yes, Kenny Rowels was arrested in May this year, near Plymouth, where he was using fishing hooks to attract stray cats.
The act of subjecting the innocent creatures to such cruelty sounds so hurtful to ears, one can only imagine the amount of pain those little creatures had to go through.
Kenny’s neighbors in Plymouth, where he was putting up before the arrest, spotted a couple of cats around his home with fish hooks stuck in their mouth.
After their report and further investigation, it was discovered that he used to bait the cats with meat stuck on fish hooks. He targeted abandoned properties to attract more cats.
After months of questioning, he accepted that it was how he used to feed the cat. When the cats used to feed upon the meat, the three-pronged fish-hook used to get stuck into their mouths, causing them intense misery.
While he claims that it was how he used to “fish for the cats” and played with them, one cannot justify the acts of animal cruelty with this statement. Kenny will be taken for trial in the court on 2 December.
Reportedly, Kenny was into tears when he realized that the cats that he used to feed with fish-hooks have got them stuck in their throats.
Happy Hearts and Tails Safe Haven Animal Rescue Hospital of Pennsylvania has successfully rescued one of the stray cats named Tollie.
They found her from an empty residence, struggling to free her throat of the hook and string. The hospital had to perform a surgery on the cat to bring her back to a normal life, without the hook.
While there were several cats on the abandoned property, they could only find one who were discovered struggling with the fish-hook.
