A 7-year-old boy was found living in a horror house with his drug-addict parents surrounded by flies, poop and needles.
The young boy was found among the trash as piles of garbage littered the poop and fly-infested home in Leicester.
Unbelievable photos show cigarette butts around the disgusting rooms and rotting food in the kitchen. Officers even found feces on the walls and mold developing across the rooms.
The 7-year-old had no toys to play with or change of clothes. He wasn’t even wearing underwear when cops found him.
He said to officers that he had eaten ‘some cookies’ but had no other food. He also revealed that he was ‘always hungry.’
The child couldn’t tell the difference between day and night and he’s ‘terrified of flies.’
While the boy had no other medical problems, he needed medication for worms.
The court heard how the father had succumbed into drugs after suffering numerous bereavements and the mother lived there as she had ‘nowhere else.’ Both have been given 10-month jail sentences suspended for 18 months with 1 year of drug rehabilitation.
“The conditions were disgusting, with rotting food and piles of rubbish everywhere,” said Alexander Wolfson, prosecuting.
“The bedrooms, lounge and bathroom were filthy. The kitchen was rancid with a couple of tins of food left open and evidence of mouse droppings.
“The stove was inaccessible, there was mouldy food in the fridge and it was difficult to move around.”
He added: “Unfortunately drugs paraphernalia was lying about; items associated with taking heroin, with uncapped needles. Cigarette ash was evident and flies. Bags of rubbish were on the upstairs landing.”
The boy is now in foster care but still wants to see his parents. The mother and father were placed on 3-month home curfews at separate homes and were also ordered to attend 15 days of rehabilitation activity.
