Children are a blessing from above.
But what happens when the blessing is multiplied several times. Most of you may not be familiar with Janet and Graham Walton. Well, here is their amazing and heart melting story. The couple gave birth to adorable sextuplets. For those who are not aware sextuplets are six off springs.
Amazingly they were all girls. The girls were born in 1983 in Liverpool. They are known for being the first all-female surviving sextuplets. That was years ago, now the girls are all grown up and have their own careers. And now Graham and Janet are celebrating the birth of their first grandchild.
Theirs is a story of struggling to get kids. They tried for years to conceive and it failed and they almost gave up before they decided to give it one final trial. Since our God is a God of wonder, they were able to conceive and amazingly they found out that they were going to get six kids.
Quite a happy ending this must have been for the couple. Imagine trying multiple times to get a baby and the final get to get six babies. Someone above must have heard their prayers. They girls were delivered at the 31st week and they were all healthy and thriving.
The parents were so happy and they named their daughters Ruth, Luci, Sarah, Jennie, Kate and Hannah. Jane Walton recalls that she even had to go the hospital at the 8th week of her pregnancy in order to ensure that the sextuplets were born healthy.
This definitely meant that she did not have any time to prepare her home for her six babies and no preparations for her coming babies. Janet says that they were really happy and they lived those early years with their girls in a blur.
She however says that there is one thing that she really regrets and that is the fact that there wasn’t there enough time for her to enjoy the girls as she might have liked. They girls were really close and they say that they are still close even to date.
In 2014, one of their daughters’, Sarah, gave birth to a beautiful daughter known as Jorgie. Whenever Sarah mentions about feeling tired and overwhelmed, her father and mother remember all the sheer exhaustion and sleepless nights they had to endure while raising their six girls when they were little.
Janet says that it was really hard because for the first two years they would only sleep for a couple of hours. Am sure that any one of us who has had a kid or kid can relate. We all know that being a new parent is not easy. The new parents are always overly tired and stressed out.
Now imagine how one gets after having one kid and imagine what the Walton’s were going through with six children all looking up to them for each and every one of their needs. Am sure it a situation that gives most of us shivers because we can all agree that it is no easy task.
Graham also says that those early years were amazing and he would not say that there was a single moment that was better than the other. He however says that there were lots of things to do and therefore they were not able to enjoy it as much as they would have if they would have had the girls one at a time.
He went on to say that he was very excited to be a grandparent and especially to one kid because this means that they have all the time in the world to enjoy each other.
Janet says that they are really protective of their granddaughter right from the moment they first saw her pictures from the first scan.
Janet and Graham Walton are an example of a couple that were persistent and never gave up even when all seemed impossible and their patience and efforts bore fruits.
Many are times that we give up after trying a couple of times but as we have seen it is always good to keep on trying because your blessing or do I say blessings are around the corner.
