Outraged parents are demanding for a Pennsylvania teacher to be fired after she wrote “absolutely pathetic” on one of her student’s exam.
Alyssa Rupp Bohenek of Valley View Elementary School slammed the second-graders test as “absolutely pathetic” after the boy managed to answer only 13 out of 60 subtraction problems.
Chris Piland, the father of the boy in question, shared the teacher’s remarks on Facebook where parents have rallied and started a petition to get Bohenek fired.
“Absolutely pathetic he answered 13 in 3 min! Sad,” the teacher wrote on the paper along with a sad face.
The test consisted of 60 subtraction problems and the students were asked to answer as many as possible within the 3-minute time limit.
“My son Kamdyn’s teacher has been so rude to him and myself all year. He comes home with this and I am beyond frustrated that someone would write this on a child’s work. Such great motivation,” Mr. Piland wrote on Facebook.
The father’s post immediately went viral and the petition to “fire Alyssa Rupp Bohenek” has already gained nearly 20,000 signatures.
“It’s a personal issue and the results of that are not going to be dictated by social media,” School superintendent Rose Minniti said.
“It’s going to be dictated by the facts and evidence. As always with everything, we’re going to try to do what’s best for the students and what we need to do for the employee under investigation.”
Social media users, however, are determined not to stop until Alyssa gets kicked out of the school.

“I’m disgusted by this teachers actions and she should absolutely be fired if she doesn’t know how to sensor her thoughts as well as promote the kids learning with positive feedback,” another one expressed.
One person claimed: “This girl has been bullying 7-year-olds for a while now. The school doesn’t wanna do anything about it bc her father has been a teacher with the district for over a decade. That’s the only reason she got the job, to begin with.”
