Otter Pops Will Now Be Made Without Artificial Flavors Or Dyes


We all have sucked a few frozen Otter Pops in our life once.

A popular brand of the ice pops is very popular among kids and adults, Otter Pops are known for their vibrant colors and fun flavor names that are based on caricatures, Louie-Bloo Raspberry, Alexander the Grape, Poncho Punch, Little Orphan Orange, Strawberry Short Kook, and Sir Isaac Lime among them. The brand has decided to make this sweet summer staple even more edible and safe, however, they are removing all of the artificial dyes to let natural coloring shine.

According to a Foodbeast report, the brand Otter Pops now will use natural fruit juices to colored them rather than any artificial dyes, including varieties such as apple and orange juice. Maybe the colors will not be as brightly neon as they once were, but the taste should remain just the same (if not better!).

After a new formula will take place, shoppers can expect to see a shortened list of ingredients on Otter Pops’ labels: Water, sugar, apple juice from concentrate, and less than two percent of citric acid, sodium benzoate, and potassium sorbate.

Some fans worried that the original hues of Otter Pops were going away (they’re not), while others were excited to get rid of the artificial food coloring.

“As a mom of a child who reacts to food dye, I’m so excited!!!” wrote Facebook user Carrie Elves Tanner on an Otter Pop post showing the colorless pops. “I love otter pops and now we can have them back in the house again!!”
