A woman has gone viral for hitting back at her critics who told her to hide her “unflattering” stomach when she takes photos to post on social media.
Stella Williams is a US-based fashionista and plus-size model who has been advocating for the plus-size community for several years despite being subjected to comments from vicious trolls.
After her curves were featured by Nike, the young lady received plenty of backlash with people telling her to “cover up” her stomach and going as far as saying it looks like her butt.
In spite of the hateful comments, the model refused to back down saying she would be miserable if she cared about what the world thought about her every time she gets dressed.
“If I stopped and thought about [what] was ‘flattering’ to the world each time I got dressed, I’d be miserable. Y’all hate I’m happy,” she declared in a video addressed to her haters.
Stella also defended her decision to wear the Fashion Nova pants that sparked a heated debate on TikTok saying she feels comfortable in them despite viewers insisting otherwise.
The young model further claimed that the pants sold out on the website as a result of her clip.
After standing up to her critics, Stella received plenty of support from her most loyal followers who applauded her for crushing beauty standards and being gorgeous in her own way.
“Congratulations, you’re such a beautiful and necessary person in this world. I truly wish you the stars and beyond. May your days be forever blessed,” someone wrote.
“Thank you for being brave, it helps so much to shine a light on beauty in all ways. You shine and I love it,” another said.
A third expressed: “You are gorgeous and I absolutely love how confident you are in being 100 per cent you!!”
