A young mother has spoken out and defended her outfit after allegedly getting fat-shamed by complete strangers.
Nicola is a mom from Scotland who was wearing a two-piece grey Shein ensemble to the local supermarket when she started getting the “dirty looks” because her belly was showing.
Rather than letting the opinions of strangers get to her, however, the mother vowed to continue whatever makes her feel good in her own body.
“I was getting looks probably because I had my belly showing and I am not the skinniest,” Nicola said in her viral video.
“It is one of those things people probably look at me and think ‘who does she think she is wearing that it is freezing she got her belly out.’”
She continued: “My body has produced a child and if I want to rock what ever I have got I am going to do it. So yea, I went to the supermarket like this, and I don’t care.”
Concluding her message to the world, Nicola said everyone, whether slim or overweight, should be allowed to feel good in whatever they choose to wear.
The mom’s post quickly went viral with viewers praising her spirit and applauding her for standing up for herself and other women out there.
“I bet someone looked at you and thought I wish I had the confidence to wear that!! You look amazing babe,” someone said.
“You look amazing. I need to take your advice and just go for it,” another wrote.
A third added: “If you feel good in it that’s all that matters really.”
