A woman who got married to a man she’s never seen in person has revealed the pair are getting a divorce just months after their online wedding.
26-year-old Ayse Reeves from Lancaster, England, made headlines after revealing she got married to 24-year-old Darrin Martin from Michigan in an online ceremony.
To make their story even more interesting, the couple tied the knot without ever meeting or seeing each other in person.
Unfortunately, however, all good things come to an end. As Ayse has since revealed, the couple is getting a divorce just three months after their Zoom wedding.
According to the young lady, the couple decided to end their relationship and stay friends after Ayse no longer found Darrin to be trustworthy.
Darrin has since allegedly already gotten back together with his ex, whereas he and Ayse initiated the process to dissolve their fast-lived marriage.
“I felt like something was off, and whenever I asked him he denied anything was happening,” Ayse told The Sun as she recalled the weeks after her wedding.
“I then became aware of an ex-girlfriend he had called Liz.”
While Darrin initially denied having a relationship outside his marriage, Ayse could no longer bring herself to trust him and went on to file for annulment on the grounds of non-consummation.
Though the couple never got to celebrate their wedding, they have since planned a ‘divorce party’ to celebrate “getting through it and to move on.”
“I had planned my life, and put so much into the marriage and making it work, so it felt like my whole world had been pulled from underneath me and I didn’t really know what to do with myself. I felt lost,” the 26-year-old concluded.
Meanwhile, Darrin admitted: “I have reconnected with my first love and rekindled things so I figured it would be easier for us both this way.”
