The 21-year-old woman who believes she may be Madeleine McCann has flown to the US after being bombarded with cruel messages online.
Julia Wendell from Poland has made headlines in recent weeks after she repeatedly claimed that she could be the missing British girl, who vanished from an apartment in Portugal in 2007 while her parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, were having dinner at a restaurant nearby.
The woman’s case is now being investigated by California-based psychic medium Dr. Fia Johansson, who said Julia felt ‘unsafe’ after receiving threats online.
One message from an online hater claimed that there was a 30,000 euro ($31,000) bounty on her head, making Dr. Johansson believe that Julia was not safe anymore in Poland.
“Thanks for the extra protection I love you USA,” Dr. Johansson wrote on Instagram after she flew Julia to the US.
“Welcome to USA Julia – the land of love and dreams.”
In a video shared on Instagram, Julia said she felt like a ‘celebrity’ after landing in the US.
“I’m excited thank you Fia,” she expressed, adding: “Never give up and believe in yourself dreams will come true.”
Speaking to The Sun, Dr. Johansson said that her number one priority is Julia’s safety.
“The haters have been attacking Julia since she came forward,” she said. “The situation in Poland is she has nobody. Her family won’t talk to her.
“Julia has never said, ‘I am Madeleine McCann’. She has lots of questions about her past and she asked for help. We are open to all possibilities.”
After spending time with Julia, the medium said everything the 21-year-old says ‘appears to be real.’
“We have asked her family for a DNA test but her mother blocked her and they refused to even take our calls,” she went on.
Dr. Johansson also revealed that they went to police to report their concerns that Julia may be Maddie but they were told that they don’t have investigations about any missing persons outside Poland.
“The country where Maddie is missing from – Portugal – would have to force Poland to look at it,” she expressed.
“So the police cannot say whether she is Madeleine or not Madeleine.”
