Photos of the woman who claims to be missing Madeleine McCann reportedly failed to match pictures of the British girl in a facial recognition software that specializes in cases of missing people.
Julia Wendel, also known as Julia Faustyna, made headlines after she created a now-deleted Instagram account where she posted side-by-side photos of her and Maddie.
But now, Swiss company Ava-X ran Julia and Maddie’s photos through its Iris facial recognition and the results showed that it is impossible for the 21-year-old to be the missing British girl.
Speaking to German news outlet Blick, Ava-X boss said that while adult photos and childhood photos of Julia were a hit, the comparison between pictures of her and Madeleine ‘failed to match.’
“It’s practically impossible for the young Pole to be Maddie,” Fehrlin said. “You can save yourself the DNA test.”
Julia has already submitted DNA samples for three different forensic tests but the results can take weeks to be available.
Dr. Fia Johansson, a private investigator helping Julia, told The Sun: “We are still waiting on the result of DNA testing that will show us exactly what Julia’s ethnic background is and what country she and her true family are from.
“These kinds of tests are very accurate.”
Johansson and Julia flew to Los Angeles after the Polish woman received threats following her claims that she is Madeleine.
In addition to the facial recognition test, Polish police previously said that they had ruled out the possibility that Julia is Madeleine.
Whether Julia is actually Madeleine or not, she believes that she is not related to her family.
Johansson also said that they have evidence to back up their claim.
“We are still conducting an investigation but Julia is definitely not the biological daughter of her parents in Poland,” she said.
