A furious woman from the US has opened up about her failing marriage in a candid open letter in which she revealed she is likely divorcing her husband after his unreasonable demands.
As the lady in question revealed in her Reddit post, she and her husband have been together for six years despite never finding each other compatible in the bedroom because the man allegedly isn’t very good when it comes to making love.
Though the disgruntled wife repeatedly tried to talk to her husband about how he could perform better in bed, she eventually gave up because he would “pout for days” whenever she tried to talk about the issue.
After three years of marriage, the couple decided to try for a child and the woman fell pregnant after several attempts.
Four months into the pregnancy, however, the excited mom-to-be received the shock of her life when her husband suddenly confronted her and demanded they take a paternity test to confirm that he really is the baby’s dad.
“At first I thought I heard him wrong, and when he doubled down I laughed, because I thought he was making a bad joke. But no, he was actually dead serious. As soon as I realized that I immediately felt sick to my stomach,” she recalled.
“I asked him why he wanted the test and he says he just wants to make sure the baby is his. I asked him if he’s suspecting me of cheating, he said no. I pointed out that I work full time and spend every single free minute I have with him, so when would I even find the time to cheat, even if I wanted to, which I don’t?
“He got angry at me and said I have no idea what it’s like to be the man and have no control over this whole pregnancy situation and that he doesn’t want to be a doormat stuck raising a ‘cuckoo’s egg’ (his words). He claimed he has a right to know for certain.”
Following the bizarre demand, the woman snapped back at her husband who insisted he “deserves proof” that he is the child’s father.
Angered by her husband’s implications that she might be a cheater despite always being loyal to her partner, the wife said she will under no circumstance consent to a test. She also told her husband she’d be immediately filing for divorce should he get a court order for the paternity test.
“He stared blankly at me for a moment and then he started crying. I left him standing, threw a bag of essentials together and left for my parents,” she continued.
“I feel like my whole world has collapsed. My mum is trying to play mediator and has spoken to him in the meantime – she told me that he is very hurt by my comment and he wants me to apologize for that at the very least as a way of meeting him in the middle.
“On the one side, I know what I said was said out of spite and was way below the belt, but on the other hand, I feel absolutely justified to have finally said it out loud after tiptoeing around his feelings for years while neglecting my own needs in this relationship. I’m more and more sure I don’t even want to go back. I’d rather be a single mum than coddle his insecurities one day longer.”
After sharing her story on the internet, the woman received heaps of support with viewers telling her she’s better off without her toxic partner by her side.
“I was married 18 years to a man like that. Out of the blue, he started accusing me of cheating … Turns out he was cheating. I left and it was the best decision for me,” someone wrote.
“Ask him for an STD test before he can touch you again. You know, you just want to be sure. From your description, his head would explode. You aren’t accusing him of anything, you just need to be sure he doesn’t have anything. That is basically what he did to you,” another suggested.
A third said: “He knows he doesn’t please you so he assumes you’ve gone elsewhere because who would stick around for the kind of treatment you’ve been receiving. Even he realizes this.”
