Laura, who is believed to be from the United States, took TikTok viewers by surprise as she shared a video showing her making a simple wedding cake on the night before her wedding.

“Not sure if making my wedding cake at midnight the night before my wedding was the best idea,” the young lady admitted in the caption of her viral video which has since racked up millions of views.

“I’m getting married in two days and today I’m baking our wedding cake,” she added.

“It’s now midnight, the night before our wedding and I am icing our cake. I’ve never iced a cake in my life, but I think it’s looking pretty cute.”

After the video went viral, many users quickly took a jab at the young woman saying she was being a cheapskate. Others also suggested that the cake looked childish and that baking a cake the night before their wedding would never come to their minds.

“Is this a joke? Because looks like more for birthday,” someone wrote.

“Your guests will be so happy… not,” another joked.

A third said: “It looks like it was made by a child! And for a wedding…”

Some people, however, praised Laura for taking the initiative and cutting down her wedding expenses by being creative.

“Thank god someone has some common sense and doesn’t pay $500 for a wedding cake. You’re beautiful, let that shine not your cake!” another gushed.
