A wedding guest accidentally sliced the bride and groom’s cake as she thought that they had simply forgotten to serve it.
In a video shared on TikTok, Hailey can be seen helping herself to the top tier of the cake, which is traditionally saved for the newlywed’s one-year anniversary as it is thought to symbolize prosperity.
But the woman was horrified after realizing what she had done.
In the video that has been viewed over five million times, Hailey said: “My apologies to the bride and groom.”
The clip shows Hailey licking her fingers while dancing to the music as she put a slice of cake on her plate.
Explaining what happened, she wrote: “Ignoring the brownie table and confidently cutting myself a slice of HER WEDDING CAKE thinking, ‘Uh-oh. They forgot to serve it to everyone.’”
She added: “I know better know. I hate myself.”
Her post has quickly gone viral, and the bride even commented on the video.
“As the bride whose cake this is – she is formally forgiven and has learned her lesson in wedding etiquette,” the bride wrote.
Viewers were also shocked by what Hailey had done, with one person saying: “This made me angry and it’s not my wedding.”
Another wrote: “This is funny but it really does tell you a lot about the type of person someone is.”
A third said: “The way someone was even recording this instead of running up and stopping you.”
Someone else added: “Nooooo please because I would never talk to you again.”
