A man has been slammed and mocked online after revealing he washes his toilet seat in the dishwasher.
Sparking fury on TikTok, one user shared a clip showing her partner removing the toilet seat from their bathroom only to place it in the same dishwasher they use for cleaning dishware.
To make things even worse, the dishware already contained some plates, mugs, and glasses when the toilet seat made its entry.
The controversial clip has since gone viral and racked up over two million views.
“I’m never buying a second hand dishwasher,” someone wrote in response.
“I don’t care how hot it gets or how much soap is used, that dishwasher is forever tainted,” another said.
A third suggested: “I’d never put that there, where my plates and forks etc. goes into. I don’t care how clean it gets.”
Some viewers, however, went on to praise the man for being “creative” with his “genius life hack.”
“I don’t see anything wrong with that it might look disgusting but everything gets cleaned the same way,” someone said.
As it happens, the man in question isn’t the only one to place disgusting objects inside their dishwasher.
One user previously took to Mumsnet to admit that they wash their toilet brush in the dishwasher frequently.
“I clean my toilet brush in the dishwasher every few months. I just put the brush and holder in, on their own, on a hot wash and they come out like new. A friend popped by this morning for coffee, and I opened the dishwasher to get out a couple of mugs, forgetting that I had put the toilet items in last night,” the woman wrote.
“She totally freaked out, saying this is totally disgusting, and re-washed the mugs I had then taken out from the cupboard AND poured boiling water on them before she would allow me to make her coffee!!”
