Vegan Mom Refuses To Treat Daughter’s Lice Infestation Because She Doesn’t Want To Hurt The Blood-Sucking Insects

A vegan mom has come under fire for refusing to treat her daughter’s lice infestation and kill the nits on her scalp.

The Aussie parent in question was called out by another mom whose daughter was friends with the girl suffering from a severe lice infestation.

According to the woman who complained about the vegan mother on 9Coach, her daughter’s friend had a scalp full of lice and nits because her mother refused to kill any of the insects due to her lifestyle.

“My seven-year-old daughter is best friends with the girl next door, whose family are vegan. That’s fine. We respect their choice and even make special food when little River comes to play,” the mom explained in her viral letter which recently resurfaced on the internet.

Things took a turn for the worse, however, when the mother discovered that her daughter’s friend was suffering from a lice infestation during one of their play dates.

After bringing the issue up with the girl’s mother, the woman was in for another surprise as the parent told her she knew all about her daughter’s problem. She also explained that she refuses to kill off the nits or lice because she doesn’t want to hurt animals of any kind.

The mother went on to argue that she instead tried combing her daughter’s hair in the garden in hopes that any lice and nits that fall off would have a better chance at survival.

“There’s no way ‘combing them into the garden’ is going to work (industrial-grade pesticide barely works) and I don’t want my daughter covered in vermin,” the upset mom added.

Responding to the woman’s story were hundreds of people who urged the mom to report the girl’s parents to the school or the child protection services.

“What kind of parent would willingly let their child suffer from a lice infestation,” someone pondered.

“This is abuse and neglect, the child could develop anemia and even die from the infestation,” another said.

A third wrote: “So this is what becoming a vegan does to the brain.”
