A woman who decided to Google her fiancé has discovered the truth about her engagement ring, leaving her devastated.
The TikTok user, who goes under the username @hreb, Googled her fiancé and found out that the engagement ring he gave her was not originally bought for her.
In a viral video posted on TikTok, the devastated bride-to-be said: “When I randomly decided to Google my fiance’s name on the couch and saw a review written on a jeweler’s website for my engagement ring before we even met.”
Her video gained more than 35,000 likes, with many people commenting they completely understood why hreb was upset by the discovery.
One person commented: “It’s the fact that it was originally purchased for a different girl that would tip me over the edge.”
Others said that they are now Googling their partners, to which the woman said she hoped they “don’t find anything like I did.”
But many also defended her fiancé, with one person saying “a ring is a ring” and another wrote “maybe he couldn’t return it.”
A third said: “Never bothered to google him while they were dating and now that they are engaged she suddenly decides to do it? Right…”
Another shared: “My boyfriends ex told me i was wearing the engagement ring he had given her. He was a but shocked to have been found out . I didnt cry over it Lol just made him buy me a new one the tight sod. One of our daughters has been wearing it for yrs now.”
Someone else added: “Regardless, he could have sold it and bought a new ring with the money. I’d rather a $100 ring than one intended for or that belonged to another.”
