Tom Hanks has sparked fears and concern among his fans after he was seen shaking uncontrollably on stage in Australia.
While delivering a speech during a promotional tour for Elvis Presley’s biopic, in which he stars as The King’s manager ‘Colonel’ Tom Parker, some fans noticed that his right hand was shaking and he couldn’t control it.
At one point, he placed his left hand at the bottom of the microphone just below his right hand in an attempt to control the shaking.
“There is no better place in the world to make a motion picture than right here on the Gold Coast,” Hanks said while holding the microphone with his right hand, the other hand was in his pocket.
“I’ve shot films in Morocco and Los Angeles and New York City and Seattle and in Berlin.
“None of them have what the Gold Coast have, and what is that? Two words. None of those other cities have Dan Murphy,” the actor expressed, referencing the chain of liquor stores Dan Murphy’s.
While his hand was shaking, Hanks tried to control it by putting his left hand below his right hand. He also tried to switch hands.
The actor delighted his fans by saying: “We had an absolutely magnificent time with you all. There is something about the people and the place of the Gold Coast that makes everyone walk around with a confident look on their face. We were a part of that.
“Your confidence, joy and zest for life comes through in our motion picture.”
Hanks famously played the character Captain Miller in the 1998 film Saving Private Ryan. At one point, his character tells Sergeant Horvath that the shaking of his hands ‘comes and goes.’
After the premiere in Australia, Hanks returned to the U.S. where the movie was screened at Graceland on June 11.
