School Teacher Left Furious After Being Forced To Change A 6-Year-Old Boy’s Diaper Because His Mom Was ‘Too Busy’

A primary school teacher was left furious after being forced to change a 6-year-old boy’s diaper because his mother was ‘too busy’ to potty train him.

Samantha Brick complained that her workload increased because many parents try to make her clean up the mess.

Writing on Daily Mail’s Femail, she shared how one of the parents forgot to leave her son’s spare set of diapers and clothes and reassured her that she would be back within an hour.

“She promised she’d return within the hour, but 90 minutes later there was still no sign of her,” Samantha wrote.

When she called the parent to ask where they were because the young boy had already wet himself, parent responded that he was at school so the incident would be the teacher’s problem.

Samantha argued that diaper-changing is not in her job description and that the boy was no longer a toddler.

For this occasion, Samantha’s assistant had to go and buy diapers for the 6-year-old boy who was ‘particularly socially aware’ about what was happening.

“He was incredibly embarrassed that I had to sort him out and put on a fresh (diaper),” Samantha went on.

The furious teacher then revealed that she has changed hundreds of diapers in school even though she wasn’t a mother herself.

She said that throughout her career, she has had to deal with children aged four to seven who still aren’t toilet-trained.

“My colleagues and I find it time-consuming and wearing, but it’s become the norm. It’s the rest of the class that really loses out, especially pupils who need a bit of extra attention,” she expressed.

Samantha then called out all the parents who claim they are ‘too busy’ to teach their children ‘such a basic skill.’

“Why on earth do you think such an important responsibility lies more with me, someone who may only be in your child’s life a few short months, rather than with you, their parent?” she asked.
