Former UFC star Paige VanZant has claimed that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship is ‘100 percent fake,’ leaving ‘Traylor’ shippers furious.
In the new episode of her podcast ‘Page and Austin,’ the former professional mixed martial artist said that she believes the 34-year-old NFL star and the 33-year-old Bad Blood singer’s romance isn’t real.
“I think that the Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce ‘love story’ – I believe it’s 100 percent fake,” she claimed.
VanZant continued: “Come for me, Swifties. I have UFC fans coming for me, I think I can handle the Swifties.”
Explaining why she thinks the couple’s relationship is fake, she went on: “It is publicity. It is — one, it’s huge for the NFL because yes, the NFL is big. Taylor Swift is huge and now she’s getting an entirely different demographic to come watch the NFL.
“Think of the wives that are buying Travis Kelce jerseys now. It’s a huge publicity play on both fronts. It’s good for Taylor Swift, it’s good for the NFL, it’s good for Travis Kelce.”
“There is so much strategic stuff that’s happening,” VanZant added.
Swifties were quick to defend the couple’s relationship, wit many calling VanZant ‘jealous.’
“Seems like YOU are the one looking for publicity! There I said it!” one person said.
“She should be the last person calling anything ‘fake,’” another said.
But many were also not convinced about the couple’s romance, with one person saying: “The hired [photos] revealed to get the very staged Taylor Swift / Travis Kelce reenactment of the running to hug Joe Alwyn after the Rep concert in her Doc. This is a PR Stunt, they aren’t dating. It’s fake. You’re welcome.”
