Taylor Swift’s fans were quick to rip into Candace Owens after the right-wing commentator called the singer ‘plastic’, ‘cringy’, and ‘fake’.
It is no secret that the Shake It Off hitmaker has had numerous high-profile relationships, with her most recent one with Joe Alwyn that lasted for six years.
She is now rumored to be dating NFL player Travis Kelce.
Even though Swift was linked to the likes of Joe Jonas, Harry Styles, Calvin Harries, Tom Hiddleston and more, Owens is wondering why no one has proposed to her.
Describing the singer’s image as ‘annoying and cringy,’ the commentator also delved into her dating history and said: “Why hasn’t any man stepped up to the plate to marry her?”
Owens also wondered why Alwyn did not drop to one knee during their six-year relationship.
“Well, maybe it’s because Taylor Swift has a lot of personalities, and people think that that’s cute and it’s funny… but me, maybe I suffer from also being a 34-year-old adult woman, I just think it’s odd. I think her behavior is really, really cringy,” she went on.
Owens then changed the subject to Swift’s appearance at a Kansas City Chief’s game where she was spotted with Kelce’s mom.
“I don’t think Taylor Swift follows football,” she said, suggesting that the singer just started showing interest in the sport “this Sunday.”
The commentator concluded: “She’s just so fake, so plastic, so manufactured, very unauthentic, and that has always been my assessment about Taylor Swift.”
Swifties were quick to defend the singer, with one person saying: “Candace Owens is a joke. Taylor Swift IS NOT!”
Another said: “Candace Owens thinks a woman doesn’t have any value unless a man chooses to marry them. Taylor Swift knows she is worth more. Be like Taylor, know your own self-worth.”
A third added: “Candace Owens is such a vile human. I love how she makes video after video saying Taylor Swift is a ‘mean girl’ and trashing her… uhm sounds like projection hunny.”
