A woman has shared her frustration online after her sister banned her boyfriend of eight years from her wedding.

Posting on Reddit, the woman explained that her sister’s wedding is in two weeks and she is the maid of honor.

However, her sister told her she could not bring her boyfriend because she didn’t want her ex to be there.

“I didn’t even know they dated until I introduced Danny to my family and they were looking at each other weirdly the whole night and after he told me he and my sister dated two months a few years back and it was nothing serious,” she wrote.

The woman said her sister had invited +1’s to sit at the table with her guests but she was explicitly told that her boyfriend Danny was not allowed to be there.

When she confronted her sister, the bride replied that she didn’t want her ex there.

She then told her sister that she had three options: let her bring Danny or find a new maid of honor so she and Danny could sit with their parents or she doesn’t attend the wedding at all.

“She said I was being unreasonable and that it’s so close to wedding she can’t rearrange everything. I just said it wasn’t my problem and that Danny is my family also and how would she like it if I were getting married and told her she couldn’t bring her fiancé,” she went on.

Reddit users immediately shared their thoughts on the situation, with one person saying: “If you’ve been dating for eight years why is it now a problem? A two-month relationship 10 years ago? Is this something the new husband is upset about? Make it make sense.”

Another wrote: “Your sister should not be getting married if she has feelings this strong about a fling from about a decade ago, but I suppose that’s not really your problem.”
