Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is now engaged to her NFL player boyfriend Jonathan Owens who popped the question on Valentine’s Day.
The gold medalist took to Instagram to announce the wonderful news, sharing photos of the moment Owens popped the question.
“THE EASIEST YES,” she wrote. “I can’t wait to spend forever & ever with you, you’re everything I dreamed of and more! let’s get married FIANCÉ.”
Their photos show them smiling, with one showing Owens carrying Biles and kissing her.
A video also shows Biles’ huge ring, which has a three-carat oval-cut diamond and more smaller diamonds for a special touch.
Owens was quick to leave a comment on her post: “Ready for forever with you.”
He also shared some photos on social media, writing: “Woke up this morning with a fiancée.”
The NFL player added: “Appreciate my dawg @don_julio314 for helping me set everything up, she really had no clue what was coming. (Jeweler) @zofrost you went crazy on this one bro really made the night special.”
It was in March 2020 when the two first connected via social media.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Biles said: “He would say I slid into his DMs. I saw him and I was like, “Oh, he’s pretty cute,” so I said hi … and then I saw that he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to hang out a week or two later.”
Owns told Texas Monthly that he did not know about Biles when she contacted him.
“I didn’t know who she was. I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked.”
In August of that year, Biles shared a photo of them smiling together as they made things official on Instagram.
