Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller have left fans baffled after they explained why they have decided not to have children.
In an interview with The Howard Stern Show, The Night Before star discussed his and his wife’s reason to remain childless.
When the host asked if the couple ever wanted to have children, the actor immediately responded: “No.”
This also explains how the Superbad actor manage to keep up with multiple projects, write books, and even engage in his passion pottery.
“It’s that I don’t have kids, I have nothing else to do,” he expressed.
When Rogen and Miller tied the knot in 2011, both of them realized that having kids was not for them.
“The thing is, I think I could wrap my head around it (having children), but I think she’s just like uh no,” he went on.
Even though the couple took a different path, Miller and Rogen insisted that they are enjoying their lives without kids.
“We have so much fun. I don’t know anyone who gets as much happiness out of their kids as we get out of our non-kids,” Rogen said.
Howard Stern, a father of three, then mentioned the major sacrifices that follow with parenting. “It’s not an easy haul having kids. You can’t be narcissistic, you have to give yourself over to parenting, and they’ve gotta be the priority.”
To which Rogen replied: “Yeah, I don’t want that. That does not sound fun to me.”
Appearing on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Rogen also said: “I’ve been around obviously a lot of children, I’m not ignorant to what it’s like…everyone I know has kids…some of my friends have had kids for decades.
“Some people want kids, some people don’t want kids. Honestly, you just are told, ‘You go through life, you get married, you have kids.’ That’s what happens…me and my wife, neither of us were like that.”
