Salma Hayek, 56, is being hailed as a ‘goddess’ after she posted a risqué photo on Instagram to celebrate National Bikini Day.
The Mexican-American star wowed her fans as she wore a multi-colored bikini while posing in an indoor swimming pool. She kept her hair loose and accessorized with chandelier earrings and a ring.
The star intensely looked into the camera, showing off her youthful and makeup-free skin.
Not many people were aware of the holiday until she shared her photo and wrote: “Happy National Bikini Day! Can you believe the bikini has only been around for 77 years?! Let’s hope they don’t ban them too.”
Fans were stunned by her post, with one person commenting: “What I can’t believe is how unbelievably stunning you look. Just simply a goddess.”
Another wrote: “Let’s make a national bikini day a weekly event.”
A third said: “My goodness wow. Beautiful Salma Hayek.”
The Desperado actress has had an illustrious career even though she has seemingly been pushed into playing s*xy roles.
Speaking to GQ in February, she opened up about how it felt being pigeonholed into the same roles.
“I was typecast for a long time. My entire life I wanted to do comedy and people wouldn’t give me comedies. I couldn’t land a role until I met Adam Sandler, who put me in a comedy [2010’s Grown Ups], but I was in my forties!
“They said, ‘You’re sexy, so you’re not allowed to have a sense of humor.’ Not only are you not allowed to be smart, but you were not allowed to be funny in the 90s.”
Hayek also said that she was not happy at that time “but now here I am doing every genre, in a time in my life were they told me I would have expired – that the last 20 years I would have been out of business.
“So I’m not sad, I’m not angry. I’m laughing,” she expressed.
“I’m laughing, girl,” she sarcastically added.
