Members of the Royal Family are dreading Prince Harry’s new memoir as it is described as a work of ‘raw, unflinching honesty’ that is ‘critical of everyone and everything’.
The bombshell book is titled Spare – a reference to his position as the younger brother of Prince William, who is the heir to the throne.
According to reports, the Spanish version of the book will be called En La Sombra, which means ‘in the shadow.’
The memoir is set to be released on January 10. Publishers have said that the Duke of Sussex won’t shy away from sensitive subjects, including the Royal Family’s decision to put him and William behind their mother Princess Diana’s coffin.
The father-of-two could also reveal which member of the Royal Family he and his wife Meghan claimed made a racist remark about the skin color of their son.
Palace staff have revealed that the Royals have not been offered the chance to see its contents before its release.
When the deal was announced last year, only the late Queen was informed about it.
A spokesperson for King Charles declined to comment but it is understood that members of the Royal Family have been warned that Harry’s 416-page book is ‘critical of everyone and everything’ and that they are already ‘dreading’ it.
A source told Daily Mail that the Duke of Sussex did not tell the Royals about the title and that it will be seen as both ‘provocative’ and ‘controversial.’
“That title is loaded and it does not bode well,” the source said.
Harry was reportedly paid $20 million in advance for the memoir as part of a three-title deal.
