Ricki Lake has unveiled her incredible transformation and shared her secret to gaining control of her alopecia and regrowing her hair.
The 53-year-old TV host and Hair Spray star shared ‘before and after’ photos showing a dramatic one-year transformation after losing most of her hair due to androgenetic alopecia.
“For those of you who don’t know or don’t remember my personal journey. These side by sides show the dramatic success I’ve had using @harklinikken products,” the Ricki Lake talk show host wrote in her Instagram post.
As the actress went on to explain, the two pictures were taken just a year apart.
She also opened up about her treatment to answer the questions of people eager to know how she’s managing her condition.
“I’ve been following their simple and easy protocol for over 2 years now. People ask all the time, I use their shampoo, condition daily and their extract at night,” Lake added.
“I could not be happier with my results and to finally be at peace with my hair loss struggles.”
At the bottom of her post, she added: “Pictures are taken just over a year apart.”
In her post, the TV host appeared to endorse the Scandinavian company Harklinikken which specialized in hair growth solutions.
Lake previously opened up about her condition, which affected her for most of her life, back in February when she told People about how she was forced to shave her head last year.
“You name it, I put it on my scalp,” she said as she recalled using everything from prescription medication to topical creams to steroid injections to supplements in a desperate bid to counter her condition.
Despite her efforts, nothing allegedly helped Lake prevent her hair from thinning, prompting her to wear hair extensions for years.
Eventually, however, the actress accepted her condition and decided to shave her head. That’s when she also found out about Harklinikken and decided to give the brand a go after a recommendation from a friend.
Soon after taking on a strict Harklinikken regimen, Lake began noticing big changes on her scalp with more and more hair being reborn.
“Every single person we put on the regimen will see growth if they are compliant,” Harklinikken founder Lars Skjoth claimed.
