A 27-year-old has revealed that he refuses to marry his girlfriend as he doesn’t think that he loves her enough but he got her pregnant only three months into dating.

He explained that she was on birth control and believed that it was ’99.9% effective.’ “I never thought I’d be that 0.1 percent,” he wrote.

The expectant dad also said that the family of his girlfriend want them to get married to ‘avoid any embarrassment,’ so he turned to Reddit and asked for advice.

“I won’t lie that I’m not happy about this decision (to keep the baby) but I realize its her choice and I don’t get a say, it is what it is,” he said.

The soon-to-be dad also revealed that his girlfriend is now heavily pregnant and his girlfriend’s family are still pushing them to get married.

“It started off just getting ‘so when are you getting married’ and now its been more ‘you better get married before this kid is born because my grandkid won’t be a b**tard,’” he went on.

The man went on and explained that he was not interested in marriage as his parents are both married and divorced twice.

“Even if it were, I wouldn’t feel ready to marry my gf because we still haven’t even been together for a full year. I’d like to date for at least 2 years before getting married,” he expressed, adding that he was not even sure if he and his girlfriend would still be together if it wasn’t for their baby.

“I think she’s a great person but I wouldn’t say I feel like I’m in love with her,” he added.

Reddit users expressed their opinions on the situation, with one person commenting: “Pregnancy is not a valid reason for marriage. Be a good father. Show up and be there for both of them but if you marry someone you’re already unsure about it will end in resentment on both sides. Don’t do it.”

Another said: “What is this talk about the child being a b**tard? We are past that as a society. Don’t give into those antiquated ways.”
