Rebel Wilson was rushed to a hospital after suffering an injury while performing a stunt on the set of her new movie.

The 43-year-old star was on the set of Bride Hard when the accident happened. She was taken to a hospital where she received treatment for the injuries on her face.

Taking to Instagram, the Pitch Perfect actress said: “NOT the way I wanted to end this movie! Three stitches and in hospital last night after a stunt accident at 4am.”

An action comedy set in Georgia, Bride Hard follows a secret agent, played by Wilson, struggling with one of her most challenging missions – serving as the Maid of Honor for her childhood best friend.

Simon West, the director of the movie, said: “Bride Hard combines action, adventure, and comedy. These are genres I love to mix together. I’ve done it in the past with films like Expendables 2 or even going back to Con-Air and Tomb Raider.

“I think audiences will love this. It operates on so many levels. It’s exciting, glamorous, a huge ensemble cast, and with Rebel Wilson in the lead, it’s guaranteed to be hilarious.”

Even though the entertainment industry currently faces interruptions because of labor disputes and strikes, Bride Hard has been granted special permission to continue production.

The upcoming film has been deemed an independent movie by SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists,” allowing development and filming to proceed.

“The Interim Agreement gives many of our journeyman performers and crews the opportunity to pay their rent and feed their families,” SAG-AFTRA said via The Independent.

“This approach maintains our strength, solidarity, and upper hand with the AMPTP until they yield to the deal we deserve.”
